Friars' Mass 2021

The Friars’ Ball is a wonderful celebration that brings Edmonton’s Catholic community together for an evening of fellowship, eentertainment, and fundraising for Catholic post-secondary education supporting the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton, the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton, and St. Joseph’s College at the University of Alberta. To date, approximately $2.2 million dollars has been raised to support this mission.
These have been challenging times for us all, and we hope we find you in good spirits and health. While the 51st annual Friars’ Ball has been postponed to May 6, 2022, the Friars' Board would like to utilize this pandemic year to re-connect with the spiritual purpose of our mission.
To that end, we will be holding a special Friars’ Mass on May 7, 2021 at 7:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Basilica, concelebrated by Archbishop Richard Smith, Bishop David Motiuk, and Fr. Jim Stenberg, respecting AHS restrictions. The Mass will be live streamed over the internet for those who are unable to join in person.
