Postdoctoral Research

The Department of Biochemistry offers excellent opportunities for postdoctoral research. Our department provides an intensive, collaborative environment for research in various aspects of the scientific community. Individual faculty members are well funded and provide state of the art research facilities.

 

Salary support for fellows may come from either investigators' research grants or through a competition from one of the following granting agencies:

 

Izaak Walton Killam/ Grant Notley Memorial Fellowship

The Izaak Walton Killam/Grant Notley Memorial Fellowship has a stipend of $46,000 per year, for 2 yrs. 2018 Competition Deadline: TBA (expected to be in Dec 2018, based on last years competition).

 

CIHR Fellowship

The CIHR Fellowship has a stipend of $40,000 per year, for up to 3 years and also has a $5,000 research allowance. 2018 Competition External Deadline: TBA (expected to be in Nov 2018, based on last year's competition).

 

NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship Program

The NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship has a stipend of $45,000 per year, for 2 years. 2018 Competition External Deadline: October 15th, 2018.

 

Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship

The Banting Fellowship has a stipend of $70,000 per year, for 2 years (non-renewable).
