The School of Retailing focuses on a balance between theoretical and practical learning in areas that provide students with the skills to succeed in one of the most dynamic and fast-paced industries.
The University of Alberta School of Retailing structure and partnerships aim to inspire and educate students, and promote research translation to applicable systems.
The mission for the School of Retailing has five core objectives:
Retailing Education throughout North America has been gaining awareness with students and industry in recent years. Schools including University of Florida, Harvard, Kellogg and Texas A&M have identified retailing as an important area of focus. In Canada, Halifax introduced a centre focused on innovation with plans for a retail management undergraduate program. Also recently announced $25-million to McGill University to build a retail management school.
