Career Fairs

Career fairs for the 2023-24 academic year are now done! We thank all sponsors, employers, attendees, and campus partners for making our fairs a success!

Dates for the 2024-25 career fairs will be announced later this spring. To sign up for the Career Centre’s Partner Newsletter, create an Employer & Partner account on our job portal, campusBRIDGE . If you already have an account, you are automatically added to the list.

Information for Employers

Career fairs are a great opportunity for employers to connect with students, alumni, and post-doctoral scholars from all faculties at the U of A in person.

Employer Listing

As a part of each career fair, students will have access to a list of employers attending before the event, and for the following year. The site is an opportunity for you to include your contact information, digital recruitment documents, and any links that will be helpful for students and alumni. Your company listing is included in your booth registration. If you cannot attend the fair you can sign up for an online-only listing.

Sponsorship

Sponsorship is a great way to build or enhance your employer brand among students and alumni while showcasing your organization as an employer of choice. Your sponsorship will support programming and events at the Career Centre, allowing you to build your talent pipeline by engaging with students and alumni in meaningful ways. There are multiple levels of sponsorship to be considered, with more details being announced this spring.

Registration

The registration prices and further details for 2024-25 will be announced later this spring.

All purchased booths will include a rectangular table, table covering, 2 chairs, electrical and drape. Exhibitors will also receive a complimentary parking space. Exhibitors must provide a Certificate of Insurance in advance of each career fair.

Making the Most of Career Fairs

Career fairs are an effective way to connect with the U of A students, postdoctoral fellows, and alumni, while also raising your campus brand awareness. In advance of career fairs, we encourage you to consider your recruitment goals and prepare for your interactions with students and alumni.

Set your goals

Consider your reasons for participating in Career Fairs. Is it to build awareness of your organization or employment opportunities? Are you looking to build your brand on campus?

Determine who are your target students and graduates. What skills, knowledge, and attributes are you recruiting? Are you looking to fill specific positions?

Ensure that your colleagues attending the fair are familiar with your goals and recruitment processes for your organization.

Plan your interactions

What do you want students and alumni to know about your organization?

Consider if and how you want to collect information from students.

  • Are you comfortable connecting with students and alumni over LinkedIn?
  • Some students and alumni may bring resumes or business cards. Do you want to collect this information?
  • How will you follow-up with students and alumni after the fair?
  • How can students and alumni get in touch with you, or your organization, after the fair?

We welcome and encourage you to bring print materials and swag items for your booth. However, many students will prefer to connect with you digitally through your website and social media channels. Make sure these details are easily accessible.

Choose your Representatives

Students and alumni look forward to meeting with a wide range of employees from your organization, not just recruiters and HR reps. If it’s possible, consider sending a diverse team from a range of fields and areas within your organization

Review Logistics

Sometimes the person registering for a career fair is not the person(s) attending the fair. Ensure that event logistics, including locations, campus maps, and parking details, are shared with the appropriate members of your organization.

Event details will be emailed to the email address used for registration.
