Farewell to Wednesday Webinettes

28 March 2023

In late summer 2020, the Wednesday Webinette was conceptualized by Graeme Pate, Lead Educational Developer and Cosette Lemelin, Assistant Director as a way to regularly connect with instructors overwhelmed by the needs of remote teaching yet short on time (or energy) for the professional and academic development of teaching. The aim was to provide strategies for teaching in the time it took to drink a cup of afternoon tea (Russian Earl Gray for Graeme) or coffee (latte for Cosette).

These 10-15 minute small CTL webinars (hence “Webinettes”), focused on a few key ideas of an aspect of teaching practice delivered virtually and recorded each Wednesday at 2:00pm. To watch our archived Wednesday Webinettes go to CTL's Videos page.

Between 2020 and 2023, CTL provided 64 Wednesday Webinettes on topics ranging from student engagement, assignments, online teaching, and EDI from 22 different CTL team members and the occasional instructor guest. Our most popular Wednesday Webinettes had 120+ participants and were viewed hundreds of times locally, nationally, and internationally.

This video is our last Wednesday Webinette, a creative compilation and farewell to the Wednesday Webinette at CTL. Please join us in celebrating by viewing the video.

Going forward, CTL will provide lengthier webinars and hybrid sessions on teaching. Continue to learn more on the CTL Newsletter or CTL Events page.
