16th Campus Alberta Writing Studies Meeting

Friday, April 27, 2018 (1:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.)
University of Alberta, Cameron Library Basement B-12

Our theme for the afternoon is multimodality, both in student assignments and in instructor materials. Troy Hicks, author of Crafting Digital Writing: Composing Texts across Media and Genres and The Digital Writing Workshop, will speak to us about how to help students create these kinds of assignments. Conrad van Dyk will talk to us about his online website that supports student writers, and Roger Graves will give an update on the revision of the writing.ualberta.ca student support site.

In addition, we're hoping you will consider participating on this or other topics. We will be happy to accept any of these options:

  • a formal speaking role with a presentation
  • a conversation topic that might form the basis for a semi-structured, interactive discussion among the whole group
  • a "lightning" talk of no more than 5 minutes

To indicate your interest in presenting, email us (anna.chilewska@ualberta.ca and roger.graves@ualberta.ca). We are hoping to hear from those interested in presenting by April 1, 2018.

In the meantime, enjoy this short video promoting the event.
