Chinese Language Screening/Placement Dates
In an effort to help mitigate the possibility for exposure to COVID-19 during the current pandemic, the Department of East Asian Studies will implement ONLINE language screening/placement sessions for students interested in taking Chinese language courses in Fall 2024/Winter 2025.
To register for an online Chinese language screening/placement session, please view the following instructions:
- Interested students must download and complete this language background questionnaire (pdf) and email the completed questionnaire to chinatst@ualberta.ca.
- When emailing the completed questionnaire, please include STUDENT NUMBER # and FULL NAME in the email subject line (e.g. 12345678 # Tom Smith).
- Instructions for scheduling an interview will be emailed to students upon the receipt of the completed questionnaire within 5 working days. Students may experience delays if emailed questionnaires are incomplete or email subject line convention is not followed.
Due to the possible high volume of interviews when the new term starts, it is suggested that students register for online screening/placement sessions by emailing completed language background questionnaires by August 16, 2024.
