Established in 1989, the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Dental Clinic (GRHDC) specializes in providing comprehensive oral health care for the treatment and prevention of oral disease in frail, elderly patients and adults over 18 years of age with physical disabilities or other care needs. The clinic serves as a premier student placement site for the Mike Petryk School of Dentistry. It provides dental and dental hygiene students with learning opportunities to gain hands-on, real-world clinical experience, fostering the next generation of empathetic, highly skilled healthcare leaders.
Breaking Down Barriers
For many patients, a standard dental office cannot accommodate their reality. Individuals facing visible and invisible disabilities often face barriers to accessing oral health. The GRHDC provides a safe, judgement-free space for providing essential oral health care for patients who need special attention. These patients include people with physical disabilities, complex medical needs, and the frail elderly. The GRHDC helps remove these obstacles so that patients can receive the most optimal care.

Equipped with eight generous sized operatories, wheelchair access, and overhead ceiling lifts for safe patient transfers, the clinic provides a welcoming, fully accessible environment that eliminates physical stress for both patients and providers. Appointments are scheduled with enough time for staff to perform thorough examinations and deliver complete care without feeling rushed.
