Area of Research/Thesis Topic or Title: My research is rooted in the intersection of digital humanities and language mentorship. With a Master's Degree in Digital Humanities and a Specialization with the Department of Modern Languages & Cultural Studies (MLCS), my focus is on the mentoring approaches and strategies employed by English as a Second Language (ESL) mentors at the Student Volunteer Campus Community (SVCC) at the University of Alberta. Specifically, I delve into their preparedness, utilization of new technologies, and mentorship methods, especially for newcomers to Canada. The goal of my study is to align these findings with existing literature on effective ESL mentorship and identify potential avenues for improvement to optimize participant learning outcomes, leveraging computational tools and digital technologies in the process.
