The University of Alberta's Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine held several events last week in celebration of Alumni Weekend, and more than 250 alumni and their guests returned to Corbett Hall for the festivities.

Alumni from 26 different grad classes attended the Dean's Alumni Luncheon on Friday, September 22, including members from the class of '57 celebrating their 60th anniversary of graduation and the class of '61 for their 56th anniversary. Alumni enjoyed catching up with their classmates, meeting other grads, speaking to student representatives from the Rehabilitation Medicine Students' Association and listening to an address from Dean Bob Haennel.

We invited alumni to bring their pictures and keepsakes from when they were students, and one alumni from the physical therapy class of 1961 brought old exams to share. After lunch, faculty members from the Departments of Communication Sciences and Disorders, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy led tours of Corbett Hall and updated the alums on current research.

Later that day, the Alumni-Student BBQ allowed a chance for networking, burgers, and a prize draw. One lucky student and one alumni each won a Samsung tablet, among other prizes awarded to draw winners.

We also welcomed back four alumni classes for reunion events at Corbett Hall. Thirteen members of the Class of '67 celebrated their 50th reunion on September 22, starting the day off at the UAlberta Cap and Gown ceremony at convocation hall on Friday morning, then on to the Dean's Alumni Luncheon, followed by a Faculty-hosted reception and personal tour of Corbett Hall from the Dean and capped off by the Alumni-Student BBQ.

On September 23, 21 members of the physical therapy Class of '92 gathered for their 25th reunion, 10 members of the occupational therapy Class of '87 celebrated their 30th reunion and 19 members of the occupational therapy Class of '92 held their 25th reunion.

These events gave alumni a chance to return to their roots and revisit Corbett Hall, meet current students, and catch up with former classmates and instructors.
