Making the Case for Makers in Space

The Shack, the science hardware hackerspace, opens with the first ever Shack Speaker Series on Monday, September 28th in CCIS L2-200, 4:30pm. Dr. Geoff Steeves, professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Victoria, will present on the topic "Making the Case for Makers in Space."

Dr. Steeves was a finalist in a recent Canadian Space Agency search for astronauts. He will discuss how long-duration missions, such as a mission to Mars, can benefit from ideas from the maker movement.

Join us after the talk at 5:30pm for free snacks and the official opening of the Science Hardware Hackerspace.
