Day in the Life of Paul Ladell

7 June 2018

Paul Ladell has been working in the School of Dentistry for 12 years. We had a moment to catch up with him and learn a few things about him.

What is your role at the School of Dentistry?

I'm the prosthodontic lab supervisor and I oversee the day-to-day operations of the lab and 5 technicians. I am the ceramist here and I fabricate the porcelain crowns. I've been working at the School of Dentistry for 12 years.

What is one of your proudest moments at work?

I feel the most proud when I have a student who has graduated from the School come back and tell me that they remembered something we said during clinic and they used this feedback to help a patient. It made them strive to be better. It really means a lot to me.

Tell us something we don't know about you.

I do a lot of trail running and participate in at least 5 to 6 races a year. A few weeks ago I ran a 25 kilometre, and this July I'm taking part in a 160 kilometre relay in Crowsnest Pass. I'm a part of a 7-person team.

If you weren't doing what you do now, what would you be doing?

My dream job would be to be a fish & wildlife enforcement officer. I love being outside and that's my lifestyle.
