News Article (Post)

A news article in Cascade is also referred to as a Post.

To add a new article, select Add Content from the top menu:

Adding content to the News Post

Page name, Placement Folder, Display Name and Title are the same as a regular page. Ensure the Placement Folder is the correct folder inside your news collection.

• Teaser will be shown on any news feeds when selected.
• Keywords can be used to filter news feeds.
• Author is optional and is shown in feeds and on the post.
• Category can be used to filter on a News Room page as well as show related articles.

Select Yes under Feature on Homepage to show this post in the featured section of a News Room page.

News posts can be 1 or 2 column. You can also select to have a full-width feature image display at the top of the page with the title of the article overlayed on the image.

Before choosing a feature image, ensure you have an image that is wide enough to display properly in the space.

 Other settings

• Canonical URL: If this story is posted elsewhere and you want that location to be found in search, enter the URL here.
• Teaser Image: Shown when teasers are used. Use a smaller version of the image for this field.
• Main Image: The primary image for this story. Will also be used as the banner image if that option is selected.
• Main Image Caption: caption that will be shown with the image.
• Release Date: Date of the article. Used to sort in news feeds.
• External Link: For linking to an external article. When this article is clicked in a teaser list, the user will be taken to the URL entered here.
