  • Develop the skills needed to succeed at university,
  • Complete a limited number of credit courses in the Open Studies Fresh Start Program in the fall and winter terms immediately following being Required to Withdraw,
  • Establish Satisfactory Academic Standing, and
  • Regain eligibility for admission or readmission to a University of Alberta Faculty.

PLEASE NOTE:

For the 2020-2021 Fresh Start Program with study beginning in Fall 2020, students must complete all parts of the registration process, including the admission application form, by 4:00 p.m. (Mountain time) on Friday, July 31, 2020.

Students continuing in the Fresh Start Program due to COVID-19 DO NOT need to complete the standard registration process but must confirm their intention to continue in the program by 4:00 p.m. (Mountain time) on Friday, July 31, 2020. Additional details are available here.

Based on restrictions enacted by the Government of Alberta with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic, Fresh Start Program registration is currently available to students only through remote delivery. We understand that the COVID-19 pandemic may impact students' abilities to participate in or complete components of the registration process. In such instances, we aim to be flexible in order to facilitate students' registrations and will provide options and/or assist students in completing their registrations as possible.
