The Department of East Asian Studies in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Alberta invites applications for Assistant Professor in Korean Studies (tenure-track, starting July 1, 2016).
Applicants for this position are expected to have in hand a PhD degree in Korean Studies or a related field, such as Literature or Cultural Studies with a focus on Korea. Period and specialization are open, but research/teaching expertise in translation studies and contemporary popular culture will be assets for the position. Applicants must be fluent in the Korean language, be capable of offering advanced courses in Korean and be able to publish research findings in English.
