The University of Alberta is offering a class in Hindi language in 2015-16. This is the first time that Hindi has been offered for university credit at U of A, and perhaps in Alberta.

HINDI 111 (Beginners' Hindi I) will be offered in the Fall term, followed by HINDI 112 ( Beginners' Hindi II) in the Winter term. Offered by the Department of East Asian Studies, the classes are scheduled for Monday and Wednesday evenings (6:00-8:25 pm) and can accommodate up to 30 students.

The classes provide an introduction to Hindi language and culture and are not open to students with native or near native proficiency in Hindi. Students with some prior background in Hindi should contact the Department of East Asian Studies after August 1 for screening and placement.

The Department is seeking a qualified instructor for these classes. Please send a c.v. and cover letter by email to easia@ualberta.ca.
