Alberta International Medical Graduate
The Alberta Ministry of Health financially supports postgraduate training positions leading to certification by either the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
Trainees must be eligible for the Provisional Register of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. To be eligible for the Educational Register in this province, graduates from non-Canadian medical schools must meet the following requirements:
- The trainee must be a graduate from a school of medicine listed in the FAIMER International Medical Education Directory (IMED).
- The trainee must pass the Medical Council of Canada (MCC) Evaluating Examination prior to the assumption of residency training. Information about these examinations can be found on the MCC website.
If you are eligible for Provisional Registry and have the appropriate citizenship requirements, application should be made to the Alberta International Medical Graduate Program (AIMG)
