Office of Education

Education is a lifelong adventure for many of us. Our curiosity, our desire to develop our fullest potential and the motivation to improve our lives and the lives of those around us, lead us to go beyond the classroom years and become permanent learners. In health, the best-prepared professionals are those who constantly update their knowledge and look for opportunities to learn from others and share our best practices.

Office of Advocacy and Wellbeing

The Office of Advocacy & Wellbeing in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta looks after issues pertaining to the health and well-being of learners & faculty. The office also advocates on their behalf.

Learner & faculty health and well-being include all areas related to both physical and mental health. We provide counselling on academic and personal matters. We also provide advice and help accommodate needs with special circumstances. Our aim is to ensure that undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate learners & faculty are not distracted by health matters and are able to perform to the best of their abilities.

As advocates for learners, we ensure their best interests are represented in all faculty and university considerations. This includes advocating for students and residents both, and making sure they are represented on all major policy committees.

The Learning Design Studio

With a focus on design, a diverse team, and a genuine interest in serving the public good, the Learning Design Studio team is active in the open education community, endlessly interested in what’s next, and generally pleasant to be around.

Medical Students Association

Established in 1914, the Medical Students’ Association (MSA) is the elected governing body which oversees the interests of all medical students at the University of Alberta. Our organization’s mandate is to serve as a liaison between medical students and the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, as well as groups external to the University of Alberta and the surrounding community. Above all, our members contribute to a thriving medical community which participates in social, academic, and athletic events.
