Fossil Hominid Cast Collection

Casts of hominid bones and skulls displayed on a royal blue table.

Dark grey and gold casts of fragmented hominid skulls as displayed on a royal blue table.

The best of its kind in Canada, the Fossil Hominid Cast Collection in the department of Anthropology contains extensive replicas of paleoanthropological fossils that preserve and capture the lives of all members of the order Primates. Fossil casts represent primates from the Paleocene through to the Holocene and emphasize the ancestral line to humans. The fossil casts are an excellent source for exploring evolutionary anatomy. The collection is highly valued as a research and teaching resource.
