Trace Fossil Collection

A rock-like white trace fossil with two faintly indented horizontal trails.

The Trace Fossil Collection in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences contains fossils that provide evidence of life activities (for example, moving or feeding) preserved in the geologic record. The specimens in this valuable teaching and research resource include burrows, footprints, trackways, feeding traces, and the like.

As the University of Alberta is enacting additional safety measures regarding the state of public health emergency in Alberta, all museum collections will be closed until further notice.
