Dean’s message - College dean announcement & leadership update

A message from Dean Greta Cummings.

19 January 2021

On Thursday, January 14, President Flanagan announced my appointment as Interim Dean of the College of Health Sciences, effective July 1st, 2021.

I am excited to contribute to the University of Alberta’s future through this leadership role, and I look forward to furthering the important work of Health Sciences interdisciplinarity with the Faculties of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation, Medicine and Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Rehabilitation Medicine, and the School of Public Health. There are so many opportunities for collaboration ahead, and a successful launch of the new College model will position both the University and the Faculty of Nursing for ongoing success.

I remain committed to the Faculty of Nursing and know our community — our students, programs, research, and global impact — will continue our legacy of leadership, both globally and locally.

I’m proud to contribute to this key moment of transition for the University of Alberta. I’m also endlessly proud of our Faculty, everything we’ve accomplished together, and all we will continue to accomplish under the new College model. I am grateful for your support and looking forward to continued collaboration, as well as many conversations about the next steps over the coming months.

Sincerely,
Greta
