The Department of Philosophy is looking to appoint a full-time Academic Teaching Staff (ATS) member for a term of three years (July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2022). Candidates should have a PhD at the time the position commences as well as academic expertise in teaching introductory practical and symbolic logic, and philosophy of science. The ability to teach courses outside of the Western tradition is considered an asset. The normal teaching load of this ATS position is eight half-course equivalents (HCE) over 12 months with one HCE reduction per year for service and supervision. The latter two areas will be met through the supervision of logic tutors and mentor ship of new instructors in logic and the philosophy of science.
