We are pleased to announce that Dr. Laura Wright, SSHRC postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Sociology, has accepted a tenure-track position at the University of Saskatchewan starting July 1, 2016. Laura received her PhD from Western University and arrived at the University of Alberta this past fall. Her research examines cohort changes in the transition to adulthood, partnership trajectories in the early life course, and intergenerational exchanges between adult children and older adult parents. Her postdoctoral work, under the supervision of Dr. Lisa Strohschein, investigates the home-leaving trajectories of young adults in Canada, the factors associated with returning home, and implications of these patterns for young people and their parents.
