Micheala Slipp A very warm and heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Micheala Slipp, who successfully defended her doctoral dissertation at Athabasca University this summer. The title of Dr. Slipp's dissertation was, The Role of Video-Conferencing Clinical Supervision for Rural, Remote and Northern Counsellor in Mitigating Compassion Fatigue. This mixed methods study looked broadly at counsellor patterns of engagement in clinical supervision across Canada, and specifically at how counsellors in rural, remote, northern and rural-indigenous communities are using video-conferencing supervision to mitigate risk of compassion fatigue. The dissertation is openly available online, and two forthcoming publications are currently undergoing peer-review. In recognition of the total body of her work during her studies at Athabasca, Micheala has been short-listed for the Governor General's Gold Medal.

Dr. Slipp was recently appointed as the Clinical Director in the Department of Psychotherapy and Spirituality at St. Stephen's College. Prior to that, she served two years as the Co-Chair (Art Therapy) of the same department.

Congratulations, Dr. Slipp!!
