Awards and Scholarships

The Faculty of Arts is pleased to offer a variety of Awards and Scholarships that are available specifically to our students. These awards and scholarships have been endowed by generous donors to reward academic achievement, assist with financial needs and support Arts students' success. These awards are unique to the Faculty of Arts and are therefore administered by the faculty office. 

The criterion of the award determines the nomination process. Some of our awards do not require an application while other awards have a criterion that requires us to ask applicants a few specific questions. 

Our applications are now all fillable google forms and we encourage you to apply!

Awards, Scholarships and Funding for Current and Continuing Students

Student Life and Learning Enrichment Fund 

Ongoing

Student Life and Learning Enrichment Funding is intended to support individual students and student groups partaking in activities related to an Arts program of study and/or to enrich the experience of student life in the Faculty. Some examples are: expenses related to participation in a conference, sponsorship of guest speakers and special Arts events, and support for student groups affiliated with and having a mandate related to the goals and vision of the Faculty of Arts.

Arts Awards & Scholarships - General Application

Mookie Award

Awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in any year of an undergraduate degree who demonstrate an interest in pursuing the study of China. Selection based on academic standing. Preference is given to students who have completed at least three units of course weight in the study of China in the Faculty of Arts.

IF Grape Memorial Scholarship

The recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing, demonstrated excellence in languages and/or literature, and financial need.

Faculty of Arts Leadership Award

To be awarded annually to students with a grade point average of 3.3 or higher who are registered in the Faculty of Arts. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of demonstrated leadership through involvement and participation in university or community organizations, sports activities, or cultural activities and academic standing.

Awards and Scholarships for Convocating Students

Catherine McLean Scholarship in Arts

Awarded to student(s) with superior academic achievement convocating from an undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Arts. Selection based on academic standing. Preference given to student(s) with demonstrated financial need.

Faculty of Arts Outstanding Leadership Medal

To be awarded annually to a graduating student in the Faculty of Arts who demonstrates outstanding leadership skills and potential through involvement and initiative in Faculty of Arts organizations and activities. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 on the last *60 taken in their programs.
