French For The Future Local Forum

We are pleased to announce the next Forum Local du Français pour l'avenir (FPA) 2024.

Up to 200 students from grade 9 to 12 of francophone and immersion schools in the Edmonton area will gather at Campus Saint-Jean to participate in the Edmonton Forum Local this Friday, February 23, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

During this fun and interactive day held entirely in French, students who are actively studying French will participate in educational, cultural and sports workshops, as well as have the opportunity to meet interesting bilingual mentors, network with other students from across the province and expand their knowledge of the local and international Francophonie.

This year's workshops include robotics, a juridical workshop, theater and dance, and more!

  • Opening ceremony: Mathieu Gingras, our special guest speaker and advocate of Canada's rich cultures, will share his passion with young Francophones/francophiles from around the globe.
  • Rapper 2Moods, a Franco-Albertan artist of Congolese origin, will host the cultural show at the end of the day.
  • A meal will be provided
  • Lots of prizes and gifts to win!

Local Forums are events that gather French Second Language and French First Language students from Grade 9 to 12 for a full day of activities in French. Thanks to the presence of stakeholders and artists from the Francophone community, we give students the opportunity to learn more about the cultural and professional value of being bilingual. Hosted in over fifteen cities across Canada, Local Forums welcome thousands of students every year.
