Focusing on modernizing Alexander Mackenzie Hall, Henry Kelsey Hall and Anthony Henday Hall, Lister Classic Renewal is a critical project that focused on improving the day-to-day student experience of the ~1,500 residents who live there. Recognizing that the Lister Classic towers are more than a building, the renewal brought forward the vibrant student culture of U of A residence to create a comfortable home with open and bright study and social spaces.
The renewal included a complete interior redesign of the buildings — originally built in the 1960s — with new mechanical and electrical systems, life safety systems and services, washrooms, floors, lights and common area furniture and a regrade of the exterior with new windows, photovoltaic panels and roofing.
