5.3 Acceptance of New Students

All graduate students must follow the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research Graduate Application Process to apply for entry into the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences graduate program. Prospective students will need to identify a supervisor before completing this process. Selection of a supervisor is made by mutual agreement between the student and Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences faculty member.

Once an application is completed, the Graduate Studies Committee will review the application and provide a recommendation to the Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Studies. The decision for acceptance is based on the following factors:

• Academic performance of the prospective student (minimum GPA for admission is 3.0)
• English proficiency (University of Alberta Calendar - English Language Requirements)
• Credentials of the proposed supervisor
