On behalf of the Department of Political Science, we would like to congratulate Dr. Greg Anderson, this year's recipient of the Faculty of Arts Undergraduate Teaching Award!

19 April 2018

Dr. Anderson joined Political Science, as an Assistant Professor in 2006 after completing his PhD at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Anderson quickly became one of the department's most sought-after undergraduate teachers and honours advisors.

Students enthusiastically endorsed Dr. Anderson's nomination, attesting to his approachable teaching style and his genuine "encouragement, supportiveness and willingness to coach." They note that his lectures are "engaging, informative, and entertaining" and that he "aims to foster an environment in which students feel free to question ideas and generate critical and creative lines of thought in their own research and writing."

Dr. Anderson's commitment to student learning stretches beyond the classroom. He has mentored dozens of Honors students as they prepare their theses, he regularly assists students to identify internship opportunities, and he has served as the faculty mentor to the High School Model United Nations program for 13 years.

Congratulations Greg! Your commitment to students and great teaching is an example to all of us.
