This is a photo of taipei 101, one of the best Taiwan's tourist attraction. I took this photo the first time I went there, and I'm still amazed by how big and beautiful taipei 101 is. It has everything inside! I remember hanging out with my friends outside the mall and listening to people sing. Not just taipei 101 but every mall in taiwan is so huge and has a lot of things to discover, and I have some life-long memories at the mall.

This is a picture taken in Jiufen, Taiwan, during one of our weekend trips! The layout of the streets and scenery of the mountains contributed in a breathtaking view and wonderful experience. It was bustling with people and amazing to watch the sunset. When night fell, the lanterns glowed, which mimicked a scene from a Ghibli movie specifically Spirited Away. This trip to the north of the island was one of my highlights and this was one of my favourite and clearest picture I took there.

This photo captures one of the most spectacular natural views I had witnessed in Taiwan! It was only thanks to our extremely kind tour guide that my friends and I had booked for that day. That day we visited Alishan (a must see when in Taiwan!). When we were on the way back, already on the road, and although the time was running longer than what was booked with the tour guide, he still noticed this beautiful view and pulled over so we could all experience it for ourselves. Everyone was able to have a great time since our tour guide was incredibly reliable and we could enjoy the trip with ease. I felt Taiwan's kindness and beauty that day, and I genuinely appreciate everything it has to offer.

This is the Wuji Tianyuan temple in the Tamsui district! I saw a TikTok about things to do in Taipei before the trip, and the amazing architecture of this temple immediately caught my eye. Unfortunately no one could accompany me to visit it, so I went alone. I’m not used to going to completely new places alone, even less when I have no one to help me speak the local language or navigate the area. So this was a test of courage, problem-solving, responsibility, and independence. It ended up being one of the most fun trips I had been on during my time in Taiwan! It also taught me how to trust and depend on myself, which is something that I had a lot of trouble with, especially in Taiwan.

An artistic portrait capturing the sunset at the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall in Taipei. The vastness of the sky framed by the iconic land architecture above and below attempts to express the feeling of optimism and excitement felt when exploring Taiwan for the first time; a land full of beauty, opportunity, and rich in history.

A vantage point of tea fields as we travel up along Alishan mountain. A rainstorm is approaching as the fog and clouds slowly roll closer.

During one of the last days in Taiwan we went to Dihua Street. I think it's one of my favourite places we visited. Here is a photo of some herbal shops near closing, I am standing by basking in the smell of herbal medicine and admiring the brick architecture while waiting in line to pet a cat and thinking of what local life here would mean for me.

Walking back to our dorms after dinner and thinking about the hustle and bustle of the city, how it will be weird not walking through here on my way home once I leave for Canada, and wishing that Canada could have the same quality of public transport.

This photo was captured in Gongguan area near our residential dorm, capturing a glimpse of the vibrancy of the nightlife in Taipei (considering this area caters to a lot of international students due to the proximity to multiple university campuses).

I took this photo at a spot my Taroko Gorge tour guide recommended, she found it by accident while taking a photo of the sun one day and shared it with us. By taking the photo at 0.5x zoom, you get a shape that looks similar to the island of Taiwan! I love this photo because it reminds me of how beautiful the scenery in Taiwan is.

This photo captures my experience in Taiwan: Great food and amazing views

It was my first time seeing a sunset in JiuFen! I thought the colours and the lanterns in the shot was really nice. The place I was at overlooks the a lake and some mountains. I just found it to look very surreal.

After a packed day drinking tea at the teahouses, exploring the shopping and food vendors along Jiufen Old Street, we rested at a vantage point overlooking the port and watched the beautiful sunset as it evoked a sense of calm, peace and contentment.

This photo is from a spontaneous bike ride/hike that I took up Fuzhou Shan Park. I love this photo because it illustrates my favourite part about Taiwan’s landscape; the coexistence of nature and urban environments. Even though Taipei is highly urbanized there are still many places that are quite wild! Despite this park being in the middle of Taipei, I saw signs warning me of snakes and all sorts of other animals.

The iconic teahouses in Jiufen which supposedly inspired the 2001 Japanese animation film Spirited Away (though debunked by director Hayao Miyazaki), that doesn't take away from the lively nature of exploring Jiufen Old Street.
