Bilingual Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Campus Saint-Jean, in collaboration with the Faculty of Nursing, offers a bilingual Bachelor in health sciences. This program is ideal for students who want to pursue a career in the health field as a registered nurse. A bilingual Bachelor of Science in Nursing opens doors to build your profession in national or international settings.
Students at Campus Saint-Jean also have access to the Consortium National de Formation en Santé (CNFS), a valuable network offering spaces in programs in different health disciplines in French across the country. Students are given the opportunity to participate in national conferences and specialized training, as well as given access to financial support for their studies.
With passionate professors, small class sizes, all in a bilingual environment, students studying a Bachelor of Nursing at Campus Saint-Jean will not have trouble feeling at home!

Program Description
The BScN (Bilingual) program is a collaborative effort between the Faculty of Nursing and Faculté Saint-Jean, funded in part by Health Canada and in part by the Province of Alberta. This program offers students the opportunity to study nursing in Canada's two official languages. It is designed to:
- Respond to a need expressed by students who wish to obtain a bilingual degree in nursing in Alberta.
- Offer a program that prepares graduates to provide nursing services in both official languages.
- Offer a program that better prepares graduates to respond to the needs of the French-speaking communities in Western and Northern Canada.

As this program is completely bilingual, students need to prove their linguistic proficiency in both French and English. At the University of Alberta, these language competencies are evaluated as follows:

CASPer Test
The Faculty of Nursing has implemented a situational judgement test requirement, effective Fall 2020 admission onward.
The Casper Test is the specific situational judgement test being used by the Faculty of Nursing. Casper is an online test which assesses for non-cognitive skills and interpersonal characteristics that we believe are important for successful students and graduates of our program, and will complement the grade assessment that we use for application processing.
All applicants to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs at the University of Alberta are required to complete an online assessment (Casper) as part of the application package. Successful completion of Casper is mandatory in order to maintain admission eligibility. An applicant's Casper score is a selection factor that is considered in the admission decision process.
Frequently Asked Questions (CASPer)
Applicants to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing - Bilingual Program may complete the CASPer test in either French or English.
Specific CASPer testing dates are listed on their website. Any questions about CASPer test taking must be directed to the testing agency. Please note that the earlier that CASPer scores are submitted, the earlier the University can make an admissions decision on the University of Alberta application.
CASPer Testing is external to the University of Alberta application system. Applicants are required to first submit their application to the University of Alberta, then register for a CASPer test. CASPer test results are sent directly to the University of Alberta from the CASPer agency. Applicants with incomplete or missing CASPer scores will not be considered for admission.
Please note that CASPertests are only valid for one year and must be completed each year you apply. You may only write the CASPer test once per year. Applicants who have already taken the test in previous years will therefore be expected to re-take it.
In order to take CASPer, you will be responsible for securing access to a computer with audio capabilities, a webcam, and a reliable internet connection on your selected test date. CASPer, can be taken practically anywhere that you can satisfy these requirements. No exceptions will be provided for applicants unable to take CASPer, online due to being located at sites where the internet is not dependable due to technical or political factors.
