1st prize in Student Completion on Regional Groundwater Flow

EAS students, Judit Déri-Takács and Daniel Skoreyko, won 1st Prize for their presentation on "Review of pros and cons of building a repository of high-level nuclear fuel-waste on recharge versus discharge areas of regional groundwater flow".

Judit Takacs and Dan Skoreyko"Student Completion on Regional Groundwater Flow" was initiated by the Regional Groundwater Flow Commission (RGFC IAH) in celebration of the 60th anniversary of International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH). Nine teams from universities around the world qualified for the final round and got the opportunity to present their understanding on the practical applications of regional groundwater flow theory in front of a panel of international experts at the 43rd IAH Congress in Montpellier, France.

The UofA Hydro team (Judit Déri-Takács, Daniel Skoreyko) won 1st Prize for their presentation on "Review of pros and cons of building a repository of high-level nuclear fuel-waste on recharge versus discharge areas of regional groundwater flow".
