Sukhi Grewal is a University of Alberta alumni with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Chartered Professional Accountant designation. She is currently pursuing doctoral-level studies in business leadership and strategy, specializing in research commercialization and innovation. Her academic work complements her practical experience, enabling her to translate emerging ideas into scalable strategies that drive growth and commercial impact.

She began her career in research, gaining experience with the University of Alberta’s Research Services Office and Canada’s Tri-Council funding agencies. She then transitioned to finance, accumulating over a decade of experience spanning the Canada Revenue Agency as an auditor, senior roles in public practice, and industry leadership positions, cultivating deep expertise in regulatory compliance, capital markets, and strategic financial advisory.

As an Associate Partner and Tax Incentive Lead at GPA LLP, Sukhi advises high-growth, innovation-driven organizations on R&D funding, tax strategy, and capital structuring. She provides fractional CFO services that help companies scale effectively and align innovation incentives with sustainable growth. Her experience spans technology, health-tech, fintech, biotech, and advanced engineering sectors.

As a founder and advisor, Sukhi brings a unique perspective that bridges entrepreneurship, innovation, and finance. Her experience building ventures while advising emerging companies enables her to support founders not only through compliance and funding strategies, but also through the practical realities of scaling, commercializing, and building sustainable businesses.

Sukhi contributes across governance and community initiatives, including roles as Strategic Lead for the CPA Alberta Edmonton Chapter, member of the Edmonton Regional Innovation Network (ERIN) Committee, and Advisory Board Member with the Global Chamber. She is committed to mentoring, educating, and supporting initiatives that strengthen Canada’s innovation and startup ecosystem.
