ACCLE (Association for Canadian Clinical Legal Education) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting its Third Annual Conference at Robson Hall, the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Law in Winnipeg from October 18-20, 2012.

"Raising the Bar: Innovations and Best Practices in Clinical Legal Education" will focus on teaching and pedagogy in clinical legal education and will include a variety of plenary, small group and workshop sessions.

In keeping with ACCLE's mandate to promote knowledge sharing and innovation in the clinical legal education community, the agenda will provide opportunities for participants to connect and share ideas and best practices.

The conference will begin with registration and an opening reception the evening of Thursday, October 18, and will include a day and a half of interesting, innovative sessions exploring a variety of key topics in the design and delivery of effective clinical legal education programs, including:

  • Designing clinical law syllabi and course curricula

  • Applying critical pedagogy and experiential learning theories to clinical legal education

  • Effective use of technology in clinical legal education programs

  • Teaching in an interdisciplinary context in clinics

  • Setting and assessing learning objectives

  • Effective supervision and creative evaluations in clinics

  • Recent developments in clinical legal education

ACCLE welcomes participation and submissions from all legal educators and law students as well as professionals from other related disciplines including education and social work.
