The Faculty of Law notes with great pride and pleasure that four Faculty of Law alumni are among those recognized with a 2014 Alumni Award from the University of Alberta, Kevin J. Jenkins, '80 LLB; Norman F. W. Picard, '74 BA(Gen), '75 LLB; B.A.R. (Quincy) Smith, '66 LLB; and Shannon O'Byrne, '84 MA, '85 LLB, '91 LLM.
Kevin J. Jenkins, '80 LL.B., is the recipient of the 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award, the Alumni Association's most prestigious award recognizing living graduates whose outstanding achievements have earned them national and/or international prominence.
Norman F. W. Picard, '74 BA(Gen), '75 LL.B., and B.A.R. (Quincy) Smith, Q.C., '66 LL.B. are both recipients of 2014 Alumni Honour Awards, which recognizes the significant contributions made over a number of years by University of Alberta alumni in their local communities and beyond.
Shannon O'Byrne, '84 MA, '85 LLB, '91 LLM, and professor at the UAlberta Faculty of Law, is the recipient of the 2014 Alumni Award of Excellence, which celebrates specific, outstanding accomplishments by alumni in the past 12 months that garner national and/or international attention.
The 2014 Alumni Awards will be presented to the all of the UAlberta alumni winners, including the Faculty of Law alumni recipients, on Thursday, September 18, 2014, at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, Edmonton, during Alumni Weekend (September 18 through 21).
