Bar Admission

University of Alberta Faculty of Law

21 December 2015

University of Alberta Faculty of Law Career Services Officer Mandy L. Seidenberg was sworn in on November 20th at the Law Courts in Edmonton, Alberta.

The ceremony was presided over by Madam Justice Ross, who spoke of the importance of giving back to the community and also mentioned how fitting it was to have Mandy admitted in 2015, as this year marks the 100th anniversary of the first woman admitted to the Alberta Bar: Lillian Ruby Clements.

Faculty, staff, family and friends were in attendance; Dean Paul D. Paton and Professor Morris (Moe) M. Litman, both of whom were professors of Ms Seidenberg's at Queen's University, were also in attendance.

Scott England, Legal Counsel (Operations) at Enbridge Pipeline Inc., formally introduced Mandy in a heartfelt address to Madam Justice Ross. This being Seidenberg's second bar admission, Scott spoke of his fiancée's love for education, the arts, and her involvement in the legal community, dedication and professionalism to her craft.

In Ms Seidenberg's final remarks, she thanked those in attendance from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law, her family and friends, and her fiancé, Scott England.

A lovely reception was held following the ceremony at Mandy and Scott's home.

The Faculty of Law offers sincere congratulations and best wishes to Ms Seidenberg. We're thankful to have you as part of our team!
