Dean Paton returns from a series of student welcome events in Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary in early August. This pilot project brought members of the incoming class of 2018 together with alumni from their home communities and helped to reinforce the message of community and support that is so much a part of this Faculty.
With summer coming to an end and classes resuming on Wednesday, September 2-the timing of the welcome events was ideal. These events provided opportunities for quality interaction between our new students and the legal community, and we hope to achieve the same success next year.
The Faculty of Law is grateful to McMillan LLP in Vancouver and to BLG LLP in Calgary for hosting in their respective offices, and to the alumni in all of these cities for their support and enthusiasm.
We look forward to having the Class of 2018 join us at Orientation on Tuesday, September 1, 2015. We're delighted that you've chosen the University of Alberta Faculty of Law, and best of luck in the coming year ahead!
