University of Alberta Faculty of Law Professor Barbara Billingsley Takes to the Stage in Production of A Midsummer Night's Dream

Players de Novo's annual legal community play raises funds to support the Edmonton arts scene.

Law Communications - 12 May 2016

On Friday, May 6, members of Edmonton's legal community - including our very own Professor Barbara Billingsley and several Faculty of Law alumni - took to the stage for the Players de Novo's 11th annual legal community play at the Eva Howard Theatre at Victoria School of the Arts. This year's production was Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and Professor Billingsley played the roles of Starvling (the tailor) and Cobweb (one of Tatania's fairies). Professor Billingsley follows in the footsteps of colleagues Ron Hopp, Q.C., Lewis Klar, Q.C., and Shannon O'Byrne, who have taken to the stage in past years for the annual fundraiser. Throughout the past decade, the annual play and gala reception has raised more than $818,000 for Edmonton's theatre community. This year's production benefits the Free Will Players Theatre Guild and the Victoria School Foundation.
