Professor Elaine Hughes and University of Calgary colleagues Arlene J. Kwasniak and Alastair R. Lucas have published a book entitled Public Lands and Resources Law in Canada. The book surveys legal issues common to the regulation of resource sectors in Canada, with a focus on public lands. It provides readers with the historical context and examines modern influences on resource policy, including sustainable development and climate change. The book - which examines Crown ownership, Aboriginal rights, land use planning, and other legal and policy issues - also features a case study in resource management and sectoral overviews, including on the fisheries, wildlife, forestry, and mining sectors.
