Welcome events provide an opportunity for new law students to meet the Dean before classes start in September.

Law Communications - 23 August 2016

With the 2016-17 academic year fast approaching, University of Alberta Faculty of Law Dean Paul Paton hosted welcome events in Calgary and Vancouver on August 17 and 18 for incoming Class of 2019 students. The events were designed to bring students together with Dean Paton and alumni from their home communities to begin to build a sense of community that will sustain students throughout their law school careers and beyond. Students had the opportunity to meet and ask questions of Dean Paton, UAlberta Law alumni, and law firm representatives; about law school, the city of Edmonton and the University of Alberta, and law firm life. Thank you to McCarthy Tétrault LLP in Calgary and McMillan LLP in Vancouver for generously providing event space and logistical support for the welcome events. Your ongoing commitment to our students and the Faculty is greatly appreciated.
