Professor Rod Wood admitted as member of the International Academy of Commercial and Consumer Law

On July 13, 2016, the International Academy of Commercial and Consumer Law voted to admit Professor Roderick Wood as a member at its eighteenth biennial meeting in Fukuoka, Japan. The Academy is composed of about one hundred leading academics in the field of commercial and consumer law from around the world. The Academy holds a conference every two years, and the conference papers are published. This year the conference was hosted by Kyushu University. The theme of the conference this year was an appraisal of the current state of transnational commercial and consumer law and topics included secured transactions law, bankruptcy and insolvency law, bank regulation and international trade law. Professor Wood presented a paper on commercial law codification and the problem of statutory obsolescence that it engenders.
