In Memoriam - Jean Greenaway

Former staff member passed away February 21 in her 91st year.

24 February 2017

UAlberta Law mourns the passing of Jean Greenaway, a long serving staff member of the law school. Jean was the beloved wife of Garth, mother of Carol and Kathleen, nanny to Melanie and Aaron, and a great grandmother of four.

Born in 1926 and raised in Red Deer, Jean worked as a legal stenographer prior to having children. She joined the Faculty in 1975, becoming secretary to the Dean of Law until she retired in 1991.

Jean gave back to the community as a board member of the Elizabeth Fry Society, and was an avid lover of the opera, symphony, and travel.

A gathering of family and friends in honour of Jean's life will be held in the future. At the family's request, please direct any donations in her memory to the Alberta Alzheimer Society or the Youville Home Foundation.
