Congratulations to UAlberta Law student M. Jay Smith-Hayward, who is the recipient of a $2500 prize for her paper entitled "The Unfairness of Fair Comment: How the defence to defamation went wrong in Canada and how to fix it".
Ad IDEM/CMLA, the largest media lawyer organisation in Canada, is dedicated to the promotion and protection of freedom of expression throughout Canada. Their objective is "to reaffirm every day, in every court in our country, the importance of these freedoms."
