The Indigenous Law Students’ Association at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law celebrated another successful year for its annual speaker series, which ran March 6 - 10.

The theme of this year’s week-long event was “Having the Courage to Face the Storm,” symbolized by a buffalo who does not retreat or hide when faced with a storm.

Speakers included Koren Lightning-Earle and Professor Hadley Friedland; Professor Tamara Pearl; Gabrielle Fayant; Chief Virginia Gladue, Matt General, Jeff Langlois of Duncan’s First Nation; and Justice Michelle O’Bonsawin of the Supreme Court of Canada.
