Tsugumi (Mimi) Okabe is starting a new position as clinical assistant professor in the Asian Studies program at SUNY at Buffalo.

Tsugumi (Mimi) Okabe, MLCS PhD student and instructor of many popular MLCS courses, is starting a new position as clinical assistant professor in the Asian Studies program at SUNY at Buffalo. She will be teaching courses on Japanese pop culture including anime, manga and Sherlock Holmes. 

Irene Sywenky and Geoffrey Rockwell were Mimi's supervisors: “Manga, Murder and Mystery: Investigating the Revival of the Boy Detective in Japan’s Lost Decade."
