Are you an undergraduate or graduate student looking for unique international placements? The Global Nursing Office at the Faculty of Nursing has many placement opportunities available. Please note: current programs are subject to change.
The course provides an opportunity to consolidate learning and preparation to assume the role of BScN graduate via a preceptored clinical experience. The area of focus may be a particular setting of practice, client population, or health challenge or trend. It provides opportunities to demonstrate the integration of prior learning through the development of a comprehensive care planning assignment. The preceptorship is designed in collaboration with faculty and is based on practicum area availability. Clinical hours listed are the total number of hours and will be offered over 10 weeks. This is a Faculty-led program.

Cost: $6000 to $7000
Eligibility requirements: Must have completed all third-year nursing courses prior to entering the final year of the nursing program
Open to: Nursing students from the University of Alberta, Red Deer College, Grand Prairie Regional College, and Keyano College entering their final year of their undergraduate degree

Students evaluate the influence of evidence, policy and legislation on decision-making in complex health systems using a relational practice lens. Students demonstrate and enhance their own relational capacity as leaders and innovators for 21st Century global health. This is a student-led program.

This international experience is outlined for the Masters of Nursing student working towards becoming a Nurse Practitioner. The Faculty of Nursing offers a clinical practice focus that may lead to a variety of clinical roles. MN applicants who desire to become eligible for entry-to-practice as a Nurse Practitioner must select one of the clinical areas of focus: Adult, Family/All Ages, or Neonate. The focus of this course is to provide a culminating practicum experience in the role of the advanced practice nurse with adults/ older adults, families, or neonates. Opportunity is provided to discuss issues relevant to the advanced nursing practice role. This is a student-led program.
