Our purpose was to document the development and current state of knowledge utilization as a field of study using bibliometric analysis with a particular emphasis on health.
Theresearch questions were:
-
what does the knowledge-utilization field look like generally and in the health sciences?
-
what is the structure of this scientific community?
-
what direction can be provided to researchers working in this field of study?
-
what direction can be provided to decision-makers concerned with the translation of research into patient/consumer, clinical, health systems, and public policy decisions?
