The purpose of this project is to conduct a systematic review of reviews on instruments measuring Quality of Life (QOL) among older adults with dementia in order to find a meaningful and stable outcome measures for knowledge translation intervention studies.
Specific Objectives:

Identify reviews that report QOL instruments and their use among older adults with dementia.

Identify index papers of the identified QOL instruments from the reviews.

Examine the extent to which conceptual frameworks (quality of life, measurement) and theories are used to guide the development of these QOL instruments.

Examine population/settings in which these QOL instruments have been developed (index papers) and used (reviews).

Describe psychometric properties (reviews and index papers) and performance of instruments.

Identify quality of life instruments other in than in Systematic Reviews (2000-2009).
