Evaluation of an Organizational Intervention to Improve Nursing Work Life through Training in Knowledge Translation: Phase I

Description: The focus of this research study is to determine whether an organization -wide intervention to promote knowledge translation would result in a reduction in absenteeism.
The study is currently in Phase 1 of a three phase study with the following overarching objectives:
1. To build a research base
2. To test indicators of nursing work life
3. To integrate knowledge translation into training and continuing education
The purpose of phase 1: To create a nursing work life geography of the target organization. This is being achieved through five waves of data collection using the following scales:

Conditions of Work Effectiveness Questionnaire (Kanter)

Nursing Work Index (Laschinger)

Global Job Satisfaction ( Laschinger)

Plus a demographic component.
