Description: development and validation of the typologies of evidence used in regional health board decision-making is the first step towards helping to achieve HEALNet's goal of improved decision-making in the health care sector through increased use of research evidence. The second step will involve taking the findings back to the participating boards, along with possible suggestions for how to increase the use of research evidence.

This study has three main objectives:

  1. to produce typologies of evidence used by board members and senior management

  2. to asssess board members decision-making processes

  3. to develop decision support tools based on a theory or argumentation
